Its been exactly a month since I got back from my sabbatical on the Trans-Siberian. I’ll get around to writing about each destination in the next couple of weeks.
Summary
What was initially a solo trip that I worried so much turned out to be the best time of my life. Most of my prior planning was thrown out the window and everything from where and what I was doing to do next were either done spontaneously or decided along the way.
The original plan of travelling through:
- China > Mongolia > Russia > Finland
became:
- China > Mongolia > Russia > Mongolia > Japan
The final stop, Japan was decided just one day before I was supposed to fly back back to Singapore. My sister who was heading there for a 1 week business trip decided to sponsor my air ticket to keep her company. Hence, I got to spend 4 days in Tokyo!
As can be deduced, the country that I fell in love with the most was Mongolia. A total of 5 out of 9 weeks was spent in this country where I immersed myself in its rich culture, history, beautiful nature and befriending the nicest locals.
For now, here are some of my favourite snaps from Mongolia ?
